Everyone loves to go to Vegas – Right? Well, I only go there to visit the World Market that is held twice a year. Beyond the glimmering lights of the casinos, the decadent food and eye-candy stores everywhere, this is where you will find me.

Coming on strong, again, is tufting. You will find it on modern pieces as well as mid-century modern ones. It is on bed frames, chairs and sofas. Everywhere! The Chesterfield sofa was commissioned in the 1700’s. It is best known as a stuffy piece found in Gentlemen’s clubs and libraries. Look at all of the modernized options offered today. I especially like it when it is paired with acrylic. This material was also very prevalent. The furniture seems to float in air with see-through side panels. My favorite seating area is the leather sofa and acrylic swing. How much fun is this?

Two-sided seating or tete-a-tete solves the problem of what to put in the middle of a room. This seating style was created in the 1800’s. We are seeing a need for this more and more with our clubrooms. We need a seating area that is flexible to different gatherings. These allow someone to participate in multiple conversations at once. You can expand your entertainment area with ease.

Copper and gold accents are holding strong. One manufacturer said that drink tables were their biggest sales item. The combination of metal and stone is so classic and pairs with anything. Finally seeing the phasing out of geometric shapes. The shift is back to classical and organic.

Fur is everywhere; pillows with an ombre effect, rugs, throws etc. You can add a little class and funk by throwing a fur pillow on a solid sofa. The fur rugs are so luxurious under your feet. How about next to your bed or in your closet?

Feature chairs are fun to work with. Not only were the chairs interesting in the design but also in the strong colors they were upholstered in. You don’t have to be ordinary – why not be extraordinary?

As for colors witnessed – neutrals like grey and brown with blue dominating. Everyone knows blue is my favorite color so when I find so many furniture options presented I am a happy designer. Velvet or mohair were the fabrics of choice.
