Spanish Oaks

Don’t expect an ordinary Hill Country Modern or Tuscan home. This client has a flair for color, texture, and originality. Every room was specially designed from the castle bath to the tree house bunk bed child’s room.

This residence was the client’s first custom built home. The kitchen design incorporated several materials and textures that worked together to highlight the architectural details of the space. The stacked stone arch surrounds a stainless steel backsplash and gourmet stove while the smooth surface of the concrete island is warmed up with a butcher block accent. The mocha-stained cabinets were fitted with glass-front panels to showcase the client’s collection of silver serving pieces. The dining area features 90 degree angled bricks staggered on the wall for the client to display her candles.

We envisioned a cross of crosses above the stone fireplace and designed an oversize custom cross which was fabricated out of wooden trusses and backlit to create a glowing light that attracts you to the faux-metal finish on the wall behind it. LED lighting was added to joists in the same room to draw your eye upward.

We created a wine room as a quiet getaway space just for the adults. The cathedral-style groin vaulted ceiling was balanced with a hand laid cork floor, and the onyx counter was under-lit to display the natural details of the stone. This residence is truly majestic.
