We’re not going too far out on a limb here by saying that the incredible success of Austin’s first (and possibly only) multi-family project completed in 2010 has a lot to do with the first-class quality of its architecture and interior design. Quarry Hill is a uniquely designed apartment community located Southwest Austin. It is the most recent in a long line of outstanding developments by The Larry Peel Company, with whom PPDS has had a lasting working relationship. The Larry Peel Company also collaborated with Rosales Partners Real Estate Development and Kelly Grossman Architects, LLC for the project.

So what sets this apartment community apart from its competitors? Each building in the complex is thoughtfully oriented to provide its residents with

the most privacy possible and maximize views of the Texas Hill Country. Rustic architectural details, such as clay tile roofs, unfinished cedar siding and limestone construction communicate perfectly with Quarry Hill’s natural setting. Inside the apartments, chrome fixtures, polished granite counter tops, stained concrete floors and a warm, neutral color palette combine luxury and practicality for a comfortable living space for residents of any age. Say goodbye to bland carpet and outdated laminate! Quarry Hill has updated the Austin apartment marketplace, and the result has been nothing but successful.

Since its July 4th opening, 60% of the units at Quarry Hill are already leased! It’s clear that, even in this difficult economy, the rental market is growing and is in need of quality projects. As forcasted at October’s CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women) luncheon, this is the start of a wave of high-end apartment complexes that will abandon the cookie-cutter molds and focus on being the ideal home for a family looking to downsize. Here at PPDS, we are already seeing this to be the case, as we blow the dust off of several previously postponed multi-family projects that have once again been revived. We’re excited to see what 2011 has in store!
