Kona Coffee Bean Plantation

Most people savor their morning drinking coffee. There are so many different types out there – just try to make a simple Keurig order! I had the pleasure of spending a day with our favorite Kona Coffee Plantation Owner – Dale and his wife Gretchen of Watson-Kabei Coffee Estate.  You can order their coffee online and they will ship it to you anywhere.

We drove through his lush property, high up above Kailua-Kona, where you can see rows and rows of coffee plants, banana trees and vanilla bean stalks. Once they harvest the beans they are taken to a processing plant. The beans are poured through this shot into a cleansing vat where the husk are removed.

The beans are then sent down a conveyor belt to a drying platform. After a couple of days, they are sent to the Gravity Table where they are sorted by grade of bean.

The beans are finally ready for roasting. You can see that this facility has a long list of clients they work with.

The big island is a mixture of lava beds and tropical forest. Some of the beautiful sights unfold. Enjoy – Mahalo.
